I've been to Planet Fitness's through California Washington Texas Illinois Indiana, and now North Carolina... I've also been to plenty of other competitor gyms. The one thing other than this being a gym for beginner to novice weight lifters that always sat planet fitness lower than the competitors that i complained about more than anything else is the quality of the showers. Im not sure about anyone else, but i like to take a hot shower before and / or after a workout. This gym has officially put itself on the top of the beginner to novice gym list because its water is pretty freaking hot. Flawless with everything else, clean cool staff friendly gym enthusiasts Key reason about warm showers,it loosens your muscles and it warms up your core temperature, which allows your blood acidic levels to rise way faster, causing more damage to your muscles and tendons...This is how they get stronger. Cold showers you go right to working out, and if you're out of shape, i bet you will pull something. Another note is that your body heals fastest when its core temperature is 1.5 degrees warmer than the standard 98 degrees... fact, look it up when you also your body heals the most shy because its core temperature is rose enough for the most efficient repairs to take place. Warm shower before and after a workout is just like the same for bed. You will also notice a decrease in your recovery time in between sets if you take a hot shower... fact, don't believe me, try it, then try after a cold shower.

As far as my experience at the Hargett Street location in Jacksonville NC... it has been good thus far! The area outside the club (meaning the merchant and shared parking lot) is lacking in cleanliness as it is a bit run down but that has nothing to do with the club itself. I spoke at length with Darius Blanding and was pleasantly surprised with his professionalism and pride for his facility. I must add that through this conversation I learned more from him than i did at any other location I've gone to. The staff is experienced and friendly as well as professional. The blackcard area equipment could use some updating but the staff is always working on maintaining its functionality for the members use. I especially appreciate the red-light therapy as it is a part of my recovery process from a traumatic brain injury! It's availability is why I sought out this location. It's an imperative part of my recovery process. Thank you Darius for taking nearly 45 minutes to discuss how the club operates and how to navigate the app for future training sessions/ scheduled classes. We'll both be coming to this location more frequently!
